Want to try a Road Race?

This race was the one that Morty suggested to me last year as a good "first outing". Even better this year as there is a separate A4 race. Straightforward out and back route on decent roads. Details below:

Clonard Road club Ras Naomh Finian, 70k
Different format for 2012. We will run 3 separate races:
First race is Cat-1 and Cat-2 at 11am sharp (small handicap for Cat-2 Riders).
Second race is for Cat-3 (11:05 start)
Third race is for Cat-4 (11:10 start)

Sign on 9.30am onwards at Clonard Hall on the R148 (old N4 dublin /galway road),12k enfield, 5k kinnegad,race route(same as 2011).
Start /finish Clonard,R148 to Kinnegad, then taking R446 (old N6)to Milltownpass, Rochfordbridge, Tyrrellspass, to turn around at roundabout in Kilbeggan village and return same route to finish on approch to Clonard village.
Prizes 1st 6 overall in each separate race.
1st unplaced Lady, Junior, Vet, and Cat-2

I'm tempted, i assume one day race licenses and that will be available on the day for those of us who haven't raced in yonks?

I was out on the mountain bike on Thursday night (and Friday!) ....... where were you? At least once a week offroad but I really hate riding in the dark in muck and **** ..... much prefer to be on the road instead! Mind you I'm equally useless on either!!

Yea I'd love to do it. Don't have a club Jersey yet would that be an issue?

You can wear plain jerseys, they don't like people turning up in pro-team gear though..

Canto, I'll be out there and bring a EPIC jersey if you want, but a plain one is fine.

Mel going to both races over the weekend but leaving from Naas, so can't help with a lift, sorry

the frickin trails are dry everywhere , you bunch of frickin terrorists..did the frickin Tooth Fairy rob you of your souls !!
I am offically appalled ! Canto , you are only in the club a wet day and your taking it sideways from Morty, next you will be joining Lynchies touring club !
