Fixx Supercross Cup - Round 2 - Bray Head!

A fantastic days Cross racing yesterday on Bray Head. A really tough course with a horrible climb for the 1st half of the lap but great fun on the way back down!
A big Epic turnout with some amazing results for a club that doesn't do "gay" sports!!! Colm McG and Max finished 7th and 8th in the main race - some going for two guys who have only started Cross racing and no doubt they are both going to get better! Rigid Micky D was 2nd in the B race (on his mountain bike!) and we were well represented throughout both fields! All in all a great day out!

Well I'm not sure what to make of that, certainly one of most painful things I've ever done, but for a short enough time that u get over it fast. I'm just a bit confused about using a roadbike when u could have way more control on a Mtb?? Strange!!
I made lots of schoolboys, like trying to cycle up everything, which cost me lots of time as clearly u have to jump off at speed and RUN!! Also I didn't really warm up properly and the level of pain I hit on the first 2 laps was not funny.
Then coming down the first slope I hit the brakes and nothing happened- nothing, one of the spectators ran for it, as I headed for him, out of control, even lynchy asked me what I was doing, I just thought I was on my Mtb. I suppose first race on a barrowed bike is going to be like that as I had never even sat on the bike before!!! Doh
So the jury's still out for me, yea it was fun but in a different way. Have to say though a very nice crowd of racers and I really felt welcomed by everyone, big thanks to Alfie and robin for helping me on late entry, and on Ray for loan of bike, I think I'll be back for more of this
