|Hello ,
Skippys road spin as usual , TAKING IT HANDY to Bray and back then over Killiney.
TAKING IT HANDY
Staying out of the Big ring and going at conversation pace, in a neat group with plenty of lights.
MTBs welcome, but for your own comfort, i suggest Summer tyres or slicks.
Not being funny, and not hi-jacking the spin, but how steady?
I get feck all passes out on the bike, and want to work up a sweat, so would prefer a pace like last week. Maybe split the group?
Again, not trying to offend spin leaders... I understand they give up their time etc.
it'll split , regardless. Just do your own thing and drag whatever eejits want to burst themsleves this side of Christmas, i'll be going steady with Carol and anybody else who wants a sensible pace.
I got a beone last year for 500 reduced from 1200 on CR.
it was last years stock
it has 105 and carbon fork
not the lightest but perfect for my needs
it goes like the clappers too
Well me, Jack, Carol and Orla had a great spin, going along in our own Peloton, we got caught at the lights at Loughlinstown and that was the last we saw of the main bunch..i suspect they went their own way though somewhere along the way as well! we never saw them again and I was home just after 8 after doing one climb of Killiney with the girls..they were flying by the way, they just got caught out at the start.
We had a great spin. Good pace but definately not "eye bleeding"! Same route as last week and the lads at the front controlled the speed so that we all stayed together. Really enjoyed it!
thats great lads..
What I don't think people realise is that these spins are training spins.
Its all very well fluting along on your own , thinking you are having a workout, but you will be wrong, its that little injection of competition that will really bring you on.
Plus..starting on time and obeying the rules will teach you discipline and force some race proffesionalism on to you.
Orla managed to do our spin on her Mountainbike, shame on those of you who think that you are too cool for this.
90 minutes steady riding on the road is worth more to your fitness levels than the same night riding .
Make no mistake this will improve you regardless of whether you are an XC racer, a DHer or a Saturday spinner.
