Offroad Commission awards

Now people Vote for the Blast for best event obviously,
Best XC rider Micky Dardis
Best DH rider - Silvia Gallagher
Best XC event - Davagh forest one
Best DH event - no idea

and I need somebody to nominate me for BMX rep..the present one is stepping down.

I have no guidance for motions and nonsense !! I dont feel strongly enough about XC or DH anymore to be arsed !!

As a Club we will be looking at events for next year

Obviously we will return with The Blast but do we want to run an XC NPS ?
Bear in mind we cannot get away with half arsed events and if things go as planned I wont be able to commit to anything other than The Blast.
So somebody else will have to drive the show and do all the things that I do.
And to do that you will need a Team as dedicated to it as I have.
So think about what you want to contribute to the club and if you are prepared to step up and commit to running an event.

Tiddler McNipples
Ilandai
Colm McG
OZ
Jackson (special award for his building efforts for the Blast)

We also won the best event and a special award for outstanding contribution to Irish Mountainbiking (as a club)

Congratulations Club sorry but the bloody french keyboard is driving me nuts

Outstanding Leinster Club Volunteer 2011, I think 2 other guys from other clubs got those too

Oh and Micky got the XC Rider of the Year, definitely well deserved!

Good stuff, well deserved Ger and Micky and of course Epic Mtb and all the main players behind the Blast. Thanks for picking that up Max.

The first award was for the publicly voted Best Event, the other was a special commission award:


Special awards for Outstanding promotion of Irish Mountainbiking in 2011:
Irish MTB could very easily remain totally invisible to the world if it weren’t for people having the drive and enthusiasm to do something to make a big difference to how MTB is perceived outside of the forests we race in. Be it making promotional/documentary videos, getting international exposure for events, or writing great race reports – it all makes a difference so we’d like to recognise some of these people:

EPIC MTB: This award goes to a club for elevating Irish MTB to a whole new level in terms of participation, sponsorship and media coverage with international exposure on Freecaster, Dirt website and all over Facebook.
Nobody ever dreamed that they would be pursued off a Wicklow mountain by a helicopter and the World’s fastest mountainbiking brothers all the way down the savage custom made singletrack but the these lads and ladies made it all possible and all riders on the day had a brilliant days biking which is what it is all about.

poor Jacksie was looking very worried for a while that he'd be the only EPIC head there, I think he read the whole agenda back to front twice :D

The funniest thing is when Morgan said ... go ahead Brian (and gave him the mike). Most people were like... Brian who? That's Jack! :)

Jackson's award was one of a series of awards funded by the Leinster Commission for outstanding work to support their club, now - go dismantle that Blast course again Ger - I heard there were fiends up there last night, making Big Vinnie even bigger!
Ah, not really.....

Well done to all the epic award winners... And at last the club getting the recognition is so well deserves from the Irish mtb community .
