That sounds like the usual kind of BS one would expect from a semi state body. I apologize for my ignorance in advance but I have a question. Coillte say they manage 7% of land but what about the rest of it. Would it be possible to have trails and events elsewhere or is that private land? I mean Wicklow mountains are huge. I'm sure you have explored this avenue before but I'm only new here to MTB in Ireland so not clued in.

heres the deal, there are loads of non Coillte landowners but we've never really explored them, after all Coillte manage the Forests for the Irish people.
Why should we, Coillte have banned us over a misunderstanding.
They accuse us of abusing the resource..have you ever seen the state they leave the forests in.
Its PR suicide for them now..I'm not going to rest till they are shown to the world as anti MTB, Anti people fascists.
We have done nothing but good for the sport and the country..I am going to set Sinn Fein and everybody else on them.

I agree something should be done about this. Where I come from people have a right to roam the land that is owned by them and there is no laws or bylaws to prevent them from doing so. I offered my help in the thread that was deleted and the offer still stands. My knowledge of MTB in Ireland may be limited but i have experience fighting a different organisation for some years now. Any way, I think our strength is in numbers. I still believe SC and OC should be involved. After all MTB is an Olympic sport and what better opportunity to bring this into the public domain but the Olympics across the pond.

I have listened to Sean for years about Coillte and how they want to be our friends. That was a mistake..
i'm not an Ambassador , I am a General, so stick your touchy feely , lets talk about our feelings crap up your hole..the bigger picture is that a bunch of desk jockeys are determining our future.

for over 20 years I have helped shape this sport. A lot of people wont accept that and wont admit my involvement in it. Because I am a bollix, I am not a lickarse and I never even wanted it in the first place, I am a bleedin Mountaineer but somehow I got caught up in this, I got involved in the politics because I have a big mouth and I like to fight.
I put the first MTB commission together.
And several since.
I helped form the MBI
I was approached by Coillte originally to get the trail centers built and I signed and applied for the sports capital grant that paid for Luglass DH Centre and its like a gnawing toothache for me that the poxy place will never be used.
I have wanted to abandon mountainbiking so many times..but the people keep me here.
Dont ever assume you can tell me whats best for the sport because I have given more to it than anybody.
And dont imagine for one minute that I have not been involved in some form or another in all the major decision that have been made for it over the years.
The Blast has won best event twice and the club won the award for outstanding contribution to Mountainbiking for it. They will never give me an award because I am abrasive and too much of an arrogant bollix but without those characteristic The Blast would never have happened and a lot of other stuff I'll never be credited with will be recognised either.
So here we are at payback time.
You people fight my battle for me or we are all lost.
what a load of balls. coillte have over stepped the mark by producing an instant ban rather than a ****ing discussion to solve the matter, IDIOTS!
keep us informed, any rallying that's needed we'll be there to back you up.
the only positive thing i can see in this is that now we can go into any forest and whatever the we like wherever the we like without fear of consequence. will be back,some nice places for over fire roads and daffys, super in old car park, any trees getting the way, holes in fire roads to the gravel, into trees for fun.
