Heres the dates and venues of next years XC NPS, fair play to the clubs who have volunteered to be involved. We were to run round 1 but we decided as a Committee to withdraw from the NPS. As you can see, there are no NPS races in Dublin or Wicklow but that doesnt mean there won't be races in Dublin or Wicklow or other places for that matter. You never know what some people have up their sleeves !

I'm still interested in going to one of these at some stage, maybe Dalby on 22nd April. I will wait and see if anything else is happening around here before then.

The problem with UCI numbers though is that they are not unique, if someone was born on the same date as you will have the same number. Probably not very likely in Ireland but I have recently updated my UCI number with CI and I have already found one guy in Poland that has the same!

That's because there was a huge sale of cheap vodka,9 months before your birth, leading to a massive baby boom.
I'm pretty sure that you need "Overseas Authorisation". You pay an extra €20 when you apply for your licence from CI! Not a problem in France for the ROC but the Krauts/Brits might be a different matter!
but lots of uk events are not bcf events and dont require a licence, bontrager24/12 you dont need a licence for, same kind of thing with lakeland warrior last year it was run by 26 extreme and no licence was required,maybe thats why 26extreme and offroad commission appear to be having a stone headed stand off about dates for 2012
you can get an international authorisation for your licence and you will need this if you race in a UCI event, [elite in the uk nps] but you don't need this if you ride any of the other categories.
They are real strict on their gridding in the uk, so if you ride a vets NPS event, prepare to be gridded at the back.
Dalby is good but a pain in the arse for accomodation, but kirroughtree looks like the one to go to from here.
The southern XC have the best races, and for us, the best courses. It's a lower level standard wise than the NPS in all cats but they get many more competitors, in all but the elite event.
Always sunnier and a nicer place to race than the midlands and north..
