Thanks timers and co, good work throughout the league Graham....your boner, I mean present on facebook looks great Richie....good nights racing....I knew you should've left later Terry....nice to see you win Alfie, I'll miss next week as I'll be at some bleeding wedding, thought there was three left when me and Terry were chattin before the race.....but I would've missed the next two, so only missing another one is a little better.....I'll see you all next year.....but I'm sure I'll catch the odd spin when I can, night spins no doubt, I'm still on them anyway, too many kids here these days to get out on the bike...and you might find me at the AGM hammered....nice to see yez all over the last few months....it's been great.
Perfect evening for it, great racing, everyone was close together on lap 2, but on lap 3 Alfie blasted through the field to take his win!
This is the penultimate round, Round 18 will be the last club league race of 2012...

I only found out that I was 3rd tonight in the club race at about 8.40pm outside Lambers.Im over the moon,Ive had so many rubbish results since the Club League started 17 weeks ago,that now its great to be finding form!! Big thanks to my "sparring partner" Colm Mc Garvey,sometimes C Mc G wins,other times I win!! Its the best race league in the world,only those who dont turn up are losing out big time.
I was really suffering. had a great time keeping up with Simon and Ken Mulvey for 1/3rd of a lap - until Simon (sly dog) butchered me with a super-man-whammy. My leagal team are calculating the costs of the mental scarring as I write!
I'm working next Thursday - can't believe I'm going to miss the last one. . . sad times.
& Oh yeah - Colm McGarvey and me saw something rare and strange in Lambes car park as we arrived - a lad wearing full downhill protection (we're talking spine, chest, arms, and legs!) on the outside of his gear (he was wearing a yellow polo shirt too) he took off like a scalded cat on a rigid girls bike from the 80s - kinda looked like something you'd do for a bet. He looked happy though. Fair play to him.

Ahh so many memories of the League this all great craic, this cheering and slagging thing rocks, trying to get a smile out of some of you is classic, but most have a big grin which is what its all about, Lynchie never smiles when he in club league mode!!! Alfie on fire again, Robin had a machanical, Max crashed, Ray hit a tree hahahahaahaha deadly fun.
I'll she'd a tear next week knowing that's it for another year! Fair play to graham for stepping up and running the league this year apart from the initial teething problems it's been very smooth with times up almost straight away it's been much appreciated. Thanks to the timers and shouters last night I thought it was gonna be a lot drier but them puddles wet up the wheels and make them roots tricky. I'd a good battle with Simon for the 3 laps only for his little whammy on harri he'd have got me. It's been a great 17 weeks mostly in the mud but it's been thoroughly enjoyable, until next week:)
Great to be back up there after a few weeks off, slow as a slow thing but just happy to put in the laps. Smithers did his best to get me moving but the tank was empty. Great result for Alfie, long overdue thanks to a handicap system that favors the velocity challenged. He was lapping so fast I'm sure I saw the Higgs Boson coming out his arse. Thanks to the timers, Richie and Jack for the shouting, Graham for getting times up so quickly. I'm going to miss these thursday nights when the league winds down for another year.
