So, the first NPS is a month away (so plenty of time to up the training load) who's interested?
I'm thinking of heading up on the 16th to get in a few practice laps and race the following day. If there are a few people interested, I'll look at getting a house for the weekend.
I'm going there over Easter to finalize the course and film a preview, will have more info then. If I get the van sorted by then (should) I could take 2 more people comfortably.
Heya dudes as usual i have a question for ye ; ) i'm very tempted to do this as i've not raced in ages ,but I maybe only half fit due to increased nights in my night job and finishing a college course lately. I'd have to travel there the morning of it too as i'm working the night before, I'm just wondering would that be completely nuts ? Not going to kill myself racing competitively or anything as not expecting too much from myself. Im still commuting to work which is a total of 20k approx a day but cant get back to mountain biking until this coming thursday.....anyway any advice always appreciated.....and I kind of hope people say JUST DO IT! But as well don't want to end up in super fit people's way on the day
No one has raced in ages....well except for those that did cx and maybe the blitz, but none of the cool people have raced in ages! Defo Go down, it looks like a great course, and as soon as you are on that line you will be rid of those not being competitive thoughts :)
Yay thanks guys that's what I wanted to hear ! Ha ha Erica ye as u probably know by now my competitive streak is pretty much shifting into gear even as I write this : ). I'd say I was hesitant as i've not NPS raced since Djouce last year. Anyway won't think any more about and just do. Hope it means I finally get into the cool gang too ....im v uncool though eek ; )
It's not really too important how fit you are as you well end up chasing or being chased by someone and that's the joy of racing.
Union Wood is s great place too.
