Hello Chris, I have a chainsaw and like to help out. I was planning to go there Saturday. I see how I'm fixed for Friday evening. Could I otherwise cut the fallen trees on Saturday? I ll know closer to Friday if I can make it for 6.30
There was few people saying to me last night that they could nt make Friday evening and they were saying that Saturday would suit better, if so people wish to help out on Saturday post away and orgainise something or else feel free to go up at your own steam and do a bit of tidying on the course. Every bit helps and there is plenty to be done especially on the kids course are next to the field. I will also report back on anything else that need doing after to night.
Great evening digging, clearing and cutting thanks to Andy, Donough, Bon and the boys, and Kieran.
Cleared a new line close to Robin rock tis interesting and should make a good spectator spot.
We then did a good chunk of work on the kids loop ito more or less there now.
Then we went up to the off camber section and built up and filled in a section but ran out of stakes and ply so need a small bit of extra work. Nothing major just a few stakes ir decent branches hammered in and a log to stop people sliding down the hill so if anyone get a chance over the next few days this would be a great help if not I'll sort it next week.
After that it's just general tiding and one of the main parts is between phantom and bench cut and the section before outlaw but all that is very minor.
Thanks for the offer of the chainsaw expertise Rudolf but we got sorted tonight but to be honest there wasn't much nothing compared to last year thankfully.
If anyone is snaking around there over the weekend on the bike sure let us know what you think and if there is anything we missed?
I went up for a slow spee, short, late afternoon spin around the course. It's looking great. Well done to all who worked on getting it ready. It was dry and dusty and the roots were grippy(???). Looking at the forecast for the week suggests that there won't be too many people out on it Over the next few days but someone might have the sacrifice a chicken to the weather gods if we want the same conditions next Sunday.
I tidied up a few places, mainly moving branches sticking onto the trails.
I never showed up Friday, I though it was this week's friday, didn't realize it was last week.
I will be there on Sunday as part of medical team, but I'm free Saturday if there is things to be done on or off the course.
