This sat a chance to get down and dirty ever wonder how all those wonderful hand crafted trails you ride week in week out come in to being?
Well this sat you have a chance to come along and make your contribution learn new skills have some craic get some on site training in trail building construction
At the moment a route app 500m has being cut out by Allfie and crew in preparation for club league.
This Sat need a crew to continue the work.
So sat morning bring your shovel ,rack, loppers ,work gloves no chain saws need at moment
I will be on site at 10am
Site entrance as you head up track to section 2 of club course look out for gap in fence on left after overhead power lines enter felled tress head up right will hang up a few day glow markers
See you when you arrive
Terry
As Christy would say "Don't forget your shovel if you want to go to work"
See u there. Will try rustle up a spade & rake from somewhere. Not sure what loppers are but know someone who will. See u then , I may even bring scones , jam & coffee !
Can only make an afternoon shift if there is a crew that wants to run a second shift? Happy enough to plod solo too and either continue where we were week before last or clear up on section 3 as much as I can
Yo Terry, I was going to head up and do abit tomorrow after work but I will leave it until Sat and put in a big shift in the daylight. Not a bad idea if anyone has any clear cycling/safety glasses incase a stray branch trys to have your eye out. I should have a few spare pairs that I will bring. See ya then.
Update for sat
Choice of parking either carpark on Murphy’s Lane or carpark at top of hill at Barnaslingan
Out of habit I will be parking in Barnasligan car park a few minutes longer walk will help loosen up the body.
Weather should be ok showers predicated as we will be in forest should be no problem only issue might be grass and ground will be wet so runners may not be the best choice of footwear as you will end up with wet feet.
Re tools no issue will be spares just bring your own snacks of choice
Hope to see a good crew out sat arrive any time your available and do a bit
Most of the work this week will be scraping and raking the route that has being cut so far
My number if your lost zero,8,7 six,4,4 nine 355
See you sat
Terry
Heya apologies not sure I'll make it tmw after all , maybe heading away earlier than expected. Hope somebody else brings nice scones , jam & coffee for the trail builders to enjoy!
