as you know, we are running the CX race again this year in Dodder Valley Park on October 15th.
Currently we have 50 people signed up for the races and I expect the numbers will increase after Sunday's race in Grange Castle. It would be great if you can give the event a push next week by mentioning it in comments on CX related posts from Sunday. The more people that we get to enter, the less of a loss we'll make and the more pizza and beer there will be at the AGM.

An update for CX race on the 15th
This is for all members so please read as the success of this event depends on members being available on the day.
Outline of Schedule of event
8.00 Arrive at Dodder Riverbank Park
9.00 Road Signage in place, Car parking directions in place,
8.30 Barriers Arriving, Course Preparation and marking, Barriers to be put in place,
9.00 Portable Toilets in Place
9.30 Start area, timing set up,Sign on Area all in place
9.00 First Aid Arrives
9.30 Marshall Briefing
9.45 Marshalls in Place, Final course inspection
10.00 Raceing beings 10am youth,11.00 Ladies.12.00 B race, 13.30A race
15.00 Raceing finished, Park tidied Barriers removed, tape taken down.
16.00 Final tidy up Barriers taken down, toilets removed.
So for all the above to happen workers required from 8-00am
Please come dressed for whatever the weather may hold.
Like going for a spin bring food and drink.
Please bring a fully charged mobile phone for contact on the day.
There is a high vis vest for everyone so please wear RSA have supplied 50 to be used
Below are a few points to note if you have not helped or assisted before.
Remember this race is in a public park open to the public at all times and yes we have a permit to run the race
You most likely will be asked what’s going on by members of the public if polite answers are not acceptable refer them down to the sign on area if your being hassled by anybody or threatened get help.

Marshalls are located at designated points around the event area for safety, directing competitors and managing spectators while riders are racing and during practice laps
Please let Garry Coyne know sign up on forum. Gary will be doing briefing for marshalls.
Below some notes for all members on the day
Be visible – all stewards/marshals/helpers must wear a hi-vis jacket
It is essential that’s marshalls do not abandon their location until relieve or races are over
Be loud and clear – keep the instructions clear and audible
Point – a visual instruction is often better than a verbal one
Be on the watch out for dogs not on a leash
Injuries send down to Red Cross if minor more serious ring in
Be aware of competitors and spectators coming
Check that riders in race have correct race numbers for the races ,like when Ladies race is on no males should be doing practice laps
Remember you are in charge, not the competitors or spectators
Broken tape fallen barriers please fix or report to have done
If you feel there is a problem ring for advice or help
Direct cars to designated parking areas in Supervalue agreement from Supervalue is that we request people to park away from shop doors (map of area to direct to will be available)
There have being problems with theft attempted theft around the pits areas and sign on areas at other cx events if you see any suspicious behaviour or persons pass on info can have announcements made to warn the public about undesirables in area
Encourage the riders – give them a cheer!!
When the race is over it is all hands on deck to ensure the course is cleared of all tape post barriers, signs rubbish etc.
So please try and get down to give a hand a great way to meet other club members and make a contribution to cycling.
