The last couple of day every time I try to open a post on the forum I get an new window open with some shite tryin got sell me stuff or some other kind of spam.

Hey all, there looks to be an issue, I will take the form off line and sort it.
I am to have a look at it Wednesday morning and have it back online during the day.

I think that I've managed to patch the hole, I need to do a bit more digging around but will be a couple of days to ensure I've it fully soted.

In short we have suffered an SQL injection, where there some rouge code has been inserted into our database and we're getting these redirects.
On a positive not there has been no personal data breech but it's a bloody pain to root out, the last time this took me 12+ hours to get through and address, I hope to have this resolved and beef up the mesures I had in place to prevent such attacks.
It's a combination of bad luck and a the fact while we are running the latest security patch on the forum we are still running a version that is over a decade old. By it's very nature it's age makes it vulnerable, I've asked for some assistance from a friend who knows more about back end development to help mitigate against the inherent vulnerability we currently have,
