Nothing exciting. Work and school from home - so far so good. Blocked out 12-2 every day for some fresh air and sanity - a short hill walk or spin. A couple of solo spins locally. Avoiding the crowds in Ticknock but ended up getting lost around Glendoo trying to find river run. I need my spin leaders. [emoji3]
So who sells turbo trainers locally if complete lockdown does come in?
a question have looked on line not a lot of trainers left on line
so what should i be buying rollers , trainers ,smart trainers what the advise?
Like yourself Keith out for walks ,had solo spin out around Blessington lakes on wed very eerie the silence very little traffic the only noise on and off was going by houses where gardening was going on behind gates that where probably never closed before.
I've been getting out a bit, surprised at just how may people are out there! Plenty of slipping and sliding as it's been so wet, dry the last 2 days but I've been too busy to get out there. Looking forward to a big solo effort tomorrow away from the masses.
Was off this week as we were supposed to go to Prague but couldn't in the end due to the situation.
Took the new Gravel bike out for a couple spins. Was fun on the metros, especially the lower one. Lots of walkers and bikers around.
Did the Tuesday loop on Paddys day on the big bike. Saw walkers on the route in places you would normally never see walkers. I cycled up to Ticknock and was glad I did as there was gridlock on the road leading up to it.
Weather was nice yesterday so cycled around the Phoenix park for a couple of hours on the Cannondale. Lots of people out walking and cycling but keeping distance.
Back to work on Monday. We are small company so they have decided to remain open for now and only if it's hard to get to work by public transport can you work from home.
I've been doing night shifts at work , due to it being so busy during the day we weren't getting the deliveries packed.
But it now gone right the other way hardly any people out shopping now as all the offices around us are closing there doors , but will carry on with night shifts to make sure the shelves are packed and people can get that they want.
Plus it gets me away from the general public during the day so less chance of catching anything.[emoji40][emoji40][emoji40].
Strange time for retail at the present moment.
Hopefully people will take a long hard look at themselves and come back with s slightly different way of shopping, utter madness on some of the days in the shop.
Hoping to get out on the bike over the weekend as I'm off. Clear the head a bit and get some sunshine into me.
Hope everyone is well, and eating all the pasta they bought [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
Very strange times weâre in, the crowds have moved from the pubs, shops, restaurants and other team sports and are all out on the trails, popping up everywhere, where normally youâd never see one person.. Thereâs not a car parking spot to be had anywhere at the weekend, and a few during then week, so if you live close enough to the mountains and are fit enough to cycle then get out there...
MTBâing is great for getting away from the majority of crowds, so if youâre going out for a spin make sure itâs with no more than 2 others, and if you have the snuffles or a cough then stay at home. When out on the trails keep your distance!
Highly recommend getting out on the trails early. I was up the leadmines around 8.30 this morn and had the place more or less to myself. Lotsa walkers arriving when I was finishing up
Getting out for lotsa forest walks with the kids too which is great for their physical & mental health (as itâs not natural for them to be couped up, with no social interaction).
Fairly easy to maintain a safe distance in the forests slightly further afield from Dublin. Crone was empty yesterday afternoon
Hi All
Been out trying to get some fitness back after extended Xmas break. Work &family keeping me busy, next thing you know it's nearly April.
Scrambled up the steep loose ascent of Trooperstown with family today, beautiful day out there. Clear view, nobody around.
Trails dry and tempting a revisit with bike.

It's a mad oul time, few runs and road spins, but have left the mtb in the shed for the minute - it's funny, the health service (Swiftccare in particular) is a great sub-concious safety net when you're lashing around (Djouce 2 weeks ago case in point!), but when I start riding defensively that's when I tend to have an off.
Anyway weather is lovely, need to get a quick fix soon. I hear trails are in amazing condition at the moment, annoyingly!
Strange times indeed. I was unwell for about a month and a half before this all kicked in and now find myself in the odd position that I’m back on a few gentle road spins to try to get the fitness back before getting on the mtb again and the rest of the country is about to go into lockdown!
Everyone stay safe, I’ve heard far too many horrific stories from colleagues and customers in hospitals the past week or two not to take this very seriously.
For anyone struggling with all this I have found wine really helps, beer and whiskey too.
Hilarious Bat Man - you're right though - I think the offies will be the last thing to close.
I got out on the road on the CX bike this morning about 6:30, lads were using the Bus Lanes like super highways into town on the N11, I got passed by a lad in a golf doing about 140Km on the inside lane while the rest were doing about 100 - like a freaking race.
Still much quieter all 'round - it felt great to be out, I get a good laugh every time I ride the CX bike - love it. Firing along in a 50 13 or so - wind at your back - it's like the Tour de France inside my head (until a painter in flats, riding on his heels, a hoodie and a high-viz passed me going up hill on a 20 yer old MTB - with a motor - I thankfully spotted!) I was brought crashing back to reality . . . ha ha. Great spin though, nice to get out in the dry - if feels like it was raining forever, gave the bikes a good clean over the weekend - always nice!
