You may be aware that John D suffered a nasty injury during the Leinster Cx champs on Sunday, going too fast as usual :-). He was actually winning the race when it happened, just an unlucky slip on a fast corner.
John has had an operation to repair his leg and hopes to get out of hospital soon.
I'm sure you will all join me in wishing John a speedy recovery and all the very best over Christmas.

I hope you get fixed soon John. There's plenty of time to recover and get back to fitness before the Epic league kicks off. I hope they'll all be waiting on you hand and foot over Christmas.
Sorry to hear that John. May your bones heal quickly. Time to think about a new hobby you could take up while you are in recovery. Knitting jumpers you might be a bit late now this close to Christmas.
Thanks everyone , I think that horrible image is out of my head now, so it's down to getting on with recovery, probably 8 weeks. Hobbling around on crutches and with a big boot.
Delighted the surgery went well. Big thanks to everyone who helped out, Brian mc Crystal dropped in the car yesterday from Dundalk. Vinnie Fitz will drop the bikes in shortly...I could add many more names in here. Mater Hospital staff excellent. Even the Mulvey's dropped in to cheer me up.
I do know, there's a nice bottle of wine on the rack...which is on hold!
