EPIC and the 2022 NPS - WTF Happened?

HI All,

You probably have heard that the dates for the 2022 NPS have been published. EPIC are not down as an organiser for an event. This despite the fact that we discussed the organisation of a round at the AGM and agreed that we would. So what happened?...

• Prior to the AGM I was contacted by the XC coordinator to see if we would host a round. I said the club would discuss this at the AGM and get back to them.
• After we agreed to host a round I contacted the coordinator to let them know we were interested and I suggested a few dates.
• The coordinator got back to me with the Sunday of the June bank holiday weekend - I explained that this would be problematic in terms of the proposed venue (Djouce) being very busy that weekend.
• The coordinator acknowledged this point and said that they would be back in contact after they met with Martin Grimley and Stephen Donellan.
• I did not receive any further contact from the coordinator.
• When the dates were published yesterday, I contacted the coordinator to find out what the story was. They explained that they sent an email to all of the clubs in advance of the dates being published but after checking it, they did not have the right email for Epic...

So, I am afraid that is it in terms of the NPS for 2022.

No bother Dave - most of the races are far far away - any interest from Robin etc in a Spring K Capital Cup series with Worc/Epic/MAD or is that just financially ruinous / not worth the hassle?

Blitz fills the spring series void, but yeah I'd say not worth the hassle. What's XC anyway?

Bit strange , but you made to effort and it's good there's plenty of interest. It's not profit making for the club , so lets concentrate on the CX race. There's always next year.
