deadly my first 16 minute lap !! well done guys...whats going on with my feckin bike..the bleedin crank fell off it this week ...

Thanks Bon for the results, Shona, Silvia and Rory for the timing and all the cheerers and photographers. That was my first and hopefully last time doing a club race on a 160mm travel bike!! New brake pads for hardtail will hopefully arrive by next week.

Please please please can i have permission to remove that little forkin rock that caught me out tonight and two weeks ago.It is the same rock that did Devoy the other week and got Landai twice in one race....Please!! Anyway after i got going the laps were nice and fast. Thats what a tuesday out with Drill Sergent Alfie Does for ya!! Cheers to all the timers and supporters,your all legends!

I stalked Alfie for as long as I could but when he hopped-off his bike and started taking off his top and prowled towards me like hunting cheetah saying "it's here if you want it baby!" well, I just had to back off.....far off.........

Great race and good to back in action, not at all as shlompy as it could have been, but how people are putting in 13.30's I don't know, makes most of us look like slow eejits. My special brew of Powerade and pain killers worked a treat, thank jeebus we don't do drug tests. I had a mechanical with my shoe, the ratchet opened and it nearly fell off after one lap. Mick would have won the thing had he not been besieged with problems, he was motoring when he went past me, must be the mojo provided by having your kids cheer you on.

Thanks to all the timers and spectators for the encouragement, pure gold. I didn't realise that was Stewart crouching around the place taking low, action shots, I thought it was one of those Polish dudes doing a nixer, look forward to seeing the pics.

the craic in the Pub just gets funnier..where did we get the Culchie lad from ?
the timers and supporters are great..they could teach the " supporters" at the NPS' thing or two..i have to agree they are pure gold..

yeah a big thanks to Rory, shona and Silvia for the timing and child minding. I was going well but then a punture on the 1st lap and a chain break coming thru the last section on the final lap ruined it all. Running up the last hill to try (in vain) to stay ahead of Jack finished me altoghther. Still great fun though ....

After doing a bit C.S.I on my tube and taking a swob and running the DNA i found what the problem is...See how it sits and waits in little holes

I don't think I've ever crashed so many times in an hour, lamped myself off that dodgy root inside line before the switchbacks and then hit a tree there next lap, and a few other slips.

That track just doesn't get old, it's just so enjoyable and deadly!

Don't know about the blast if that Davis lad and the Wolfe fellas show up though, still can't choose between hardtail or the downhill bike...either way it'll be mighty craic!
