Right folks as some of you may or may not know we will be running a downhill NPS next year. We have a venue and permission to run the event in a forest near Glen of Imaal in west Wicklow. Next Sunday which is the 22nd we need bodies to help clear one of the main parts of the track so if youâre into the downhill and are looking to contribute something to it come on out. This is a bit of a trip so ideally youâll need your own transport but there MAYBE someone coming from near where you are so weâll see what we can sort out. Anyone thatâs interested in helping out PM me your e-mail address and Iâll send you on some direction. We will be meeting at 10am in the main car park so if youâre coming make sure youâre on time as there is no phone coverage there so you wonât find us if your're late.

Blackadder - Normal practice would be to jump 200 feet in the air and scatter yourself over a wide area.
My map works from the parking area to the track. Won't get you to the parking area. This will though:
Take N81 south through Blessingtoun until sign left for Donard village. Take this turn and follow the road into Donard, in the village turn L and immediately R; leaving the village ignore a fork to the L and stay on the main road. After ~ 3.5 km the main road will turn to the R but stay on straight. After a further 2 km the road will turn sharp R but there are fire roads with open barriers to L and straight on. Take either of these, they meet up further on. Not much to choose between them, both are riddled with potholes so big you'll think stray artillery shells made them. Keep going until you see the parking area on the L, there's a barrier to stop you going too far.
Phone coverage is yite down there, so don't expect to rely on it for directions etc.

I won't make it out this weekend as I have a few visitors from norn iron and Killarney but I should be out the weekend after that. Dying to see what this place is like!
Yes I just want to say well done to everyone that turned up yesterday. The track is really starting to take shape now, I was getting excited looking at the bobsleigh run we built yesterday. A few more days like that and we should be getting the bikes out again. It will be a few weeks till we are there again as we're building and riding in Cloon next week and then the DH champs are the week after. I'll post up the next time we are heading up.
