We need marshalls for the EPIC Blast on the 14th of September. Volunteers please post up here.
Marshalling is like spectating except you're giving something back to the club. You'll get a whistle, a high vis vest and a radio. Feel the power. I'll be moving people from one spot to another so it doesn't get too boring. There will be an absolute minimum of standing around on crappy fireroads.
I understand that people might be reluctant to volunteer because they want to get a run in themselves. There are three runs, Heat One at 12.00, Heat Two at 2.00* and The Blast at 3.00. If you could tell me which of these runs you can marshall for that'd be great.

*I would imagine you can only enter heat two if you have completed heat one.

yes you have to enter heat 1 to qualify for heat 2.
and Marshalls will be fed and watered and encouraged to use a camera.
Cathal is the main man and at this stage we've only had one definite marshall and one possible.
99 members with licences.
To get the ball rolling.......I'll volunteer to marshal & film (Iâve a DVD camera) and blow me whistle for the two heats, but Iâm gonna race the blast. We need more people to start proving that they belong to the club.
come on people this is the last event were running this year so hands up whos helping it would be a great help to let us know sooner rather than later so we can organise stuff
Ill marshall if i can still do a bit of racing, can anyone post the options for a marshall who wants to race i.e. you get 1 qualifier and marshall the rest or early qualifier then marshall then Blast or Just Blast.
Maybe a few more people might marshall if they know that they can still do a bit of racing.
