I have seen it more than once and it was really noticeable yesterday because it was easier to see the start !!
1. be in the right ****ing gears on the start line FFS !!!! Jeeebus !! Go to the start and warm up by selecting the right gear to start the race !!! not frickin Middle and 2nd..big and 4th or something powerful !! but not something you are going to be either spinning like a feckin roadie or grinding like you are pedalling through Porridge !!
then its the stab the gear shifter, stab panic stab stab stab stab panic!! be cool, like the Fonz !
2. Stop parking yourselves at the back of the pack on the start line !! you are all experienced deadly riders, who told you to sit behind goobers from TeamWorc, Rocky Mountain and Focus MTB,Road Clubs and Triathlon Clubs and random punters who can throw their hands in the air at the sight of Singletrack and hold you up !! they're not your friends when the race is on..you can hug and kiss before and after, but in the race you want to trample them and go home and shag their girlfriends on top of the dinner table !! There no room in this Club for timid little men !! get stuck in !!! theres nobody better than EPIC riders on the technical stuff..even Joe and Robin email me wanting to know how did we get so deadly on the tricky stuff !!
