Well that was that **** - my self and zoolander put down some serious speed on the second lap, giving me my best lap time of the year (I'm glossing over my third lap time which was totall pox because I was bollixed), on a really dry and fast course.
Thanks as ever to the timers (no money changed hands for my 2nd lap time), and to everyone who comes along to make Thursday nights the craic.
Now I'm off to finsih that bottle of wine I started in Roo's jeep on the way home from Palmers. I'm an athlete I tell ya.

Man I'm so deflated. First DNF ever I think, unfinished business, it sucks!!! No thanks to those stinking tubes!! 2 punctures in 3 spins, was heading for a good result too, maybe 12th, PB also on lap 2, tyres and rider feeling good with lovely pressures, then bang! Getting the hang of this HT and big ring malarky though and still a lot of speed to be found and only a few races to find it, if I can find a 12 minute lap somewhere I'm going to retire. Not convinced by those silly bars though. I think that is the best the track has ever been, so good everywhere and everyone giving it socks. Tough luck Killian, I feel your pain. Thanks to the timers and good too see Shona, being off the bike isn't working so time to ride yourself fit, if you know what I mean!

what can you say about these Thursday night races...
I never get tired of riding the course..actually I never get tired of seeing Don,Killian and RichardL and all the members of EPIC who come to these races that are not serious racers but who make me laugh and inspire me..
You are a fool if you think XC racing ,especially XC racing EPIC style is boring or dull..
its not just about the racing, its about the challenge of 3 laps of a deadly freakin course and about the craic and the stories and the laugh in the Pub afterwards...
a big thanks to Luke, SteveM and Shona for the timing and well done to Dardoz and Caroline for being their for their first time.
Like I have said..theres no point in being here if you don't want to improve !
and for all you people that I gave their PBs tonight..i love it..all of you that I shout
" pedal harder you loser !!" never fail to go faster !!

'El Presidente del Diablo' - I had a great night on the bike, even though I got to the pub (pre-race) in tatters a quick 'pre-hydration' session made sure I was well watered for the 3 laps - amazing the difference between my times last year & last night - round 16 last year- I did a 22:00 & a 21:30, this year 14:47 x2 - delighted!!!

Great craic in the pub to with the whole crew - the buzz was brill!
Unreal nights racing, I was on the way to a scorching 2nd lap(for me anyway) when my right shoe decided it didnt want to be parted from the pedal, had to stop for about 5 mins to get the fcuker off, thanks to Cormac from MAD for the multi tool. The third lap made up for it though, what with Byrner egging me on as I chased Hairoil through the second section and Smithers roaring his gibberish at me throught the third I was able to beat my PB by 5 seconds. Savage night on and off the course, cheers lads and lassies!!!
Great criac lastnite...(excpet for the part where I came last!!) Thanks everyone for being so welcoming, it can be a bit daunting when you dont know people and you are out numbered by 35 to 1!!
Great night again ..... going a bit better than the last couple of weeks! Many thanks to Shona, Steve and Luke. Sorry I didn't respond well to your "coaching" Richie ..... for some reason I'm not comfortable with people, who are clearly much faster then me, crawling all over my back wheel whilst shouting abuse in my ear!!! Well done Harri, you were really flying last night.
I really enjoyed last night. First time ever on that track, its so much fun. A shame I got marked down as DNF, my fault for giving the guys the wrong number at the end of the first lap. Ah well, did an 18:06 last lap which I was delighted with thanks to Darragh Maloney forcing me into a sprint finish up the last hill :)
Another deadly night of racing, Thanks to Shona, Luke and Steve Dave for the start and finish.
As I'm normally doing the start it was the first time thrown into the mix of racing. great fun although I blow up way to early so was digging deep to get round.
