Miners trail Bad news..

Its fcuked !! jesus you should see the remains of the landslides down there..
even the climb up is battered..but the section between the bridge and where you have to get off and walk is fine..
but theres a whole section after that , thats unrideable..all the OPW path for about 100 yards or more is gone, replaced by boulders.
the Switchbacks have also taken a hammering too with some of the bottom section completely gone !!

oh and the section from the top of the spink to the boardwalks..completely fcduked with huge, and I mean huge holes !!

so if you've never ridden it in its pristine glory, too bad..then again it could get washed out of it again and return to normal, or it could get completely destroyed..
the wooden bridge across the river has weeds hanging out of the top of it where it must have been completley underwater..

and the walking path along the lake was wiped out by two savage landslides..there were lads up there with diggers repairing it.

Bloody hell!

myself and Damo had a couple of near misses on it..thinking it was the same as usual..i have photos to do a Blog about !!

What I never understand is with the volumes of water that must be entering that lake at times, enough to wash away mountains, how does it all exit from that piddly little river at the other end? Boffins?

It's all the little tiny streams that come off the sides of the mountains Don that add to the main little river, heavy rain fall on mountains has to go somwhere, thats whay the lake is there in the first place

sure the glendo hotel was under a metre of water last week.

Must be a very short hotel so, did any of the midgets residents drown?

ye the function room which is the lowest part was swimming. A few lads I know have been down doing the repair job.

Well, that's a pity, I remember Aimi and a few other were up there last year around this time and ended up in waist deep water at the miners ruins, hopefully it will sort itself out over the winter with a bit more flooding and a bit of freeze thaw, wouldn't it be amazing to have a track from Camaderry down to the bridge at the top of the valley, what a spin, Scarr, Brockagh, Ewoks, Cammderry, Miners....

If I ever win the euro lotto I'll build that track
