As Richie says the 2011 Club League is only just over two months away!!
This year we're going to introduce a few changes to the format which won't help myself and Smithers much but should make the league a lot more attractive to those of you that actually have a life!!
Firstly the total number of rounds is being reduced from 20 weeks to 18 weeks - even I was beginning to find the league a bit of a grind by the end last year!
More importantly we are going to introduce two discards to the series this year - everybody's best 16 rounds will count for their overall result! So if you really insist on taking a holiday with your family you can still compete for the top placings!

Good man Richard, I'm looking forward to the league this year.... would love to see the formula for your Excel spread sheet for the start times etc, I know you are working on something special !!
good man lynchie - family friendly indeed! Yeah it was funny - 20 weeks (21 last year including the climb to get the initial placings) where you just had to be at the leadmines! I missed one towards the start and moaned about it for a week stuck at work)! must say I loved every minute of the league. Even race 20 was great fun. . .
It's going to be even more amazing this year as so many people have been doing the 'hard yards' on the road, there will be some amazing times, lots of PBs made and destroyed. . . after last years fun in the sun, I got a feeling this years going to be bone dry again, the only wetting of the course will be the blood of the competitors! Whos with me? Yeeeeaahhhhhhhh

Given that I've turned up for 40 club league races in a row, I can hardly be accused of wimping out!!
We just felt that if people missed a couple of races, for family or mechanical reasons, then they were effectively out of the running for overall honours and lost a bit of interest in the series!
Watch out for Don and Richie this year!!!
Ah I understand that Richard,the "LOL" was to show you I was teasing you!!Looking forward to it,and more importantly,to you're new computer programme that sorts out the handicap start times from week to week.
now lads, Richard has kindly volunteered to run this years league and myself and Alfie and the rest of the Committee are 100% behind his ideas.
I intend to win it for the first time this year, but I doubt I'll have it all my own way.
These are great ideas, I think it will be even more fun this year.
I would also welcome a time trial club race every now and then, to see what lap time you can really do without excuses.
The 2011 club league registration will run in the exact same way as last year.
You will all register for this year's league and get a new race number.
An announcement will be made when registration opens.
