Round 15 Results

Hi All,

An eventful night at the club league. The lap route had to be amended at the last minute. A small fire burning on section 2 near the exit. Remnants of some session. Terry bagged himself a couple of nice looking camping chairs from the mess left behind.

So, the race skipped section 2 and had 4 laps instead. Which in theory would give a similar length race in time. Doris never got the memo and ended up doing tons of laps, bunny hopping the fire on his way.

Thanks to the volunteers, RoryQ, Sarah and Niamh. And thanks to Gary and Donogh for helping out a bit aswell.

The two overall leaders were both out of action tonight, Sarah and Jon. It's down to the wire.

A lovely warm,sunny evening on a dusty club course,ideal conditions.Thanks to Sarah,Niamh and Donogh for starting/timing and great to see Gary and Max on the sidelines.The fire on Section 2 gave us a new variant on the club course,and the 4 laps actually gave us a slightly longer race.I got off to a scorcher of a start,as I turned up the drag to the finish line I met Rory ending his 1st lap.Niall started a minute ahead of me and I caught him at the end of lap 1.I blazed past him onto my 2nd lap,really trying to keep the pace hot.On lap 3 I caught Maurice and Terry,both gentlemen gave me room to pass as I sizzled onwards to lap 4.I thought I saw Ger out of the corner of my eye on the new part of section one as I was on the uphill drag,this gave me the giddy up,as I didnt want Ger to catch me with his afterburners on.Into section 3 for the last time,and lo and behold I get a quick sighting of Rory,so I burned all my matches to try and catch him.Did'nt see him again until I popped out of section 3 onto the fireroad drag,I put in one last effort and smoked past him on the kicker to the line,winning by 7 seconds.My 1st ever club league since I started racing in 2010!! Delighted with that.

Congrats Micky on your first win ever 12 years trying that's a lot of racing and sweat
