Thursday 26th January 6.15 Foxrock Usual spin

Thursday with the ladies..you can see the difference this is making to people !
Jaysus! is right... just stepped out there and its bloody freezing. Wear every bit of gear you have!
I have a couple of mates joining us, one at church, (Kevin O shaughnessy)
and one at druids chair,(Rocky Wall, and that's his real name)
I hope that's alright with everyone, they are experienced lads and keen to join the club.
cheers T
great spin kids..no near death experiences..RichardL is the king of Killiney, McNips is the Queen! We even saw Smithers and Cullen off on their jaunt to Delgany...jeebus the wind was very windy..welcome to Rocky and Bullwinkle , terrys mates that were dressed as lollipop ladies..where did Dermot go to ?
Ha rocky and bullwinkle
Tough enough spin. Lynchy is really getting those climbs sorted
As soon as I make a break for it he's on the gas and you can hear him coming. Brilliant stuff.
Everyone is flying. Jackie is sooo strong, amazing last climb of death to the bitter end
She passed me at the start and that was it game on
The two lads are probably never going to talk to me again. Aw well
Was that u Smithers u big fellujah?
I get a great buzz from those Thursday sessions! Big crowd out despite the cold - although we didn't stay cold for long! Felt really strong all night .... now if I could just lose a few kgs I'd give that Terry fella a real fright! Savage wind, especially at the turn at Enya's house. Good pace too - 58kms at an average of 25kms/hr - good going considering all the climbs!
Saw Smithers making his way back on his own as I went home from Foxrock ..... come on Smithers that just can't be fun!
Every time I see u I get a real fright ;-)
Now go and have a big feed of bikkies and sugary tee LOL
Just devoured a giant recovery bowl of egg fried rice... Man those hills make you hungry. I felt like I had the brakes on all night, nothing in the legs at all. Pushed hard on the last climb and I felt a little better.
Well done all I really love these spins... Oh the suffering
ok..the point of the Thursday evening spins is to bring the club together and to give people like Carol a chance to ride with stronger riders. Its great to see so many people out and the best thing is you get to see different people each week surpass themselves. You can go up the hills as hard as you want and if you get there first you can have a chat ..theres loads of chat going on on the flat bits, the descents are fun on a road bike, I see people on these spins that I rarely get to ride with on a MTB because these spins allow everybody to ride together for 90 mins.
They are not about the training for me, they are about the people and the club. Its great to see people like Ken and Oisin on these spins who are not actual members but savage riders in their own right.
Its a shame that some people dont see the value in these spins.
Its the one time that people of all abilities can ride together as a club, I'd be a pretty brutal President if I didnt at least try to dream these things up !
well that was definitely training for me. absolutely destroyed by the time we got to the last hill (of death). great spin, very well organised group. looking forward to next week
Another great spin, the wind as u turned the last corner on the final climb to top of killiney was savage! Richard u r flyin up dem hills, unstoppable & as for Terry where r u gettin the drugs as I need whatever gear ur on!
