Was great to be back on the night spin. Really enjoyed it. Ok, I got a wet arse and feet but so what, I had fun doing it. Nice, steady climbing from the start. Surprise guest appearance by Dave Hartnett.
David talked me into going for a coffee afterwards and I ended up eating a steak sandwich in Taylor's .Was delicious but I didn't really need it to be honest. Thanks guys for enjoyable spin!

What I learned - even in the soaking schlompy wet you can do Metro 1 backwards. - you shouldn't use your face as a brake (like Dermot tried!) & if you fast lads really, really want to feel the leg burn (I'm looking at you Max et al.) put a big fat heavy wheel on your bike. I put on an old wheel I had must weight more than 2 kgs, the bike felt like a hardtail! the hills felt massive. The legs were hanging off my by the time I got home!
That was a deadly spin, Alzer, Davezer, Bootser, Harrier, Andyer, Dermoer, took off like rockets from Taylors, the fast lads (of which Andy is firmly one) got to the wall into 3Rock first. My bike was pulling me back like a lead balloon, then up over the wall, and over to the very bottom of metro 1 which was soaking, schlompy and slippy the whole team made it up with zero to 1 dab per man! what a team! then over to the Dublin Way across to Metro 2 then on to the new one (who's name I don;t know) then onto the end of metro 2 where Dermot decided to kiss the stones (on the ground) at 60Kmph - leaving him bleeding and bruised about the face and mouth, like a real man all's he said was 'look at me face, will I still be able to do kissing?' - Yes Dermot you will. With that he sped of as if nothing had happened!
Then we took off like scalded banshee hunters to T-connector, then to rock and rolla, where our butts were certainly soaked through at this stage - the wetness, rivers and muck were insane! then whale trail, then end of aggro, then the rocky descent to the blue light where we all agreed that it was the deadliest spin in for ages, even though we were all mucky soaked heroes.
it was a great night to be out. No wind. Lots of dense fog - some parts you couldn't see the bike ahead of you! it was like a horror movie. get well soon in the smoochers Dermot.
