well, it's the shortest night spin of the year (in terms of light) so, yippee-do-dah from next week on it's summer time (as the winter solstice will have passed)
So, wear your short-sleeves, and short pants, summer is just around the corner!
might go for a different route this week, it shall be magical and mysterious!
well now! what a spin, the heat was nuts - i was joking about wearing shorts - but we had a mad team of strippers buy the time we reached the gate at the scalp - it was consistently drizzling no one cared, clothes were shed with willful abandon!
the roots were slippy but no match for the intrepid explorers. Down the scalp, then up again, across to the club course - only the 'Ballinastoe' end is very wet, everyone riding like Nino Schurters, then pop across to the scalp again for a gallop and half over the top!
Dermot was talking about spreadsheets a lot - doesn't strike me as someone who pays that much attention to making his bed. Ronan was so in the groove he decided not to go home and finish the spin with the 4 other loons! Alan was hiding his clothes under rocks for bears to find. Mal was laughing at the back, and passing everyone on the down! Full on spin, very, very good fun!
It sure was a great one. It does bring out the inner child alright when you are belting it down a trail with abandon, not really caring if you fall off or not as it's so much fun.
It was fantastic to end the spin coming down Scalp. Listening to Dermot laughing like a mad man cracked me up. Thanks for coming out
