One of the funniest spins I've been on thanks to Al and his therapy session with Niamh, or his accident detection going off after I was catapulted like a spear and his wife ringing him. Al putting the call on loudspeaker, still laughing here thinking of it!
Went to the top of Maulin (spectacular views), then back down to do the trails around the switchbacks (3 times up the dreaded switchbacks) then down, across the Seymour trail to Knockree, down Rona Rola and back. Tough climbing and everyone got stuck in!
Al, Conor, Niamh and myself. Thanks guys, great company!
Thanks for that everyone, a great ol' laugh of a Saturday morning.
Who would have though, that doing the switchbacks 3 times (after climbing Maulin) in Crone that climbing Knockree is just a fantastic idea.
There was no fear of anyone getting lost or coming to a sudden halt as Alan's mammy was just an 'alert text' away from his safety app. (That woke up Crone forest on more than one occasion.)
Hats off to Tony for testing out the structural integrity of his helmet - after showing a tree who the real boss of the mountain was. #UpMunster
Cheers Nimah for making sure I was following the correct trail, as my legs went into power safety mode in Knockree.
Not to forget Al's attempt at shooing the walkers out of the way with a fake cough and the sound of his free hub, only to find out shortly afterwards they had been out since 8pm the night before and about 110km into a 130km race!
I'm in a fit of giggles thinking about it all.
Great spin lads! Enjoyed that immensely.
