DH introductory spin Sunday29th

With the club DH championships just around the corner I though a DH introductory spin on Colins track in Cloon would be usefull for a few people thinking of having a dabble.
The plan would be to session down from the top then do a full run to finish.
This is not suitable for beginers in MTB as a reasonable amount of skill will be required for this track.
That said a lot of the Saturday and Tuesday night spinners will be well able.
Body armour and full face recomended but not necessary.
As for bikes it's up to yourself. Colins track is fairly smooth but something with friendly geometry and a bit of suspension would be better.
This spin will be all about skills and fear managment there will be very little peddling.
We will be leaving the car park at 10am and wrapping up around 1pm.
I will have a couple of experienced downhillers on hand to answere questions and give advice.
Any questions just reply here or send me a Pm.
Cheers
Bren
Nice one Bren, would love to make this but will be tied up on that day, will you be doing another one?

I'll do another one in Barneys sometime just not sure when yet between track building and winter leagues. Come out to the Club champs anyway it'll be a relaxed affair. You'll have a laugh on any bike.

Ross95 theres no prob coming but I'd have to insist you have a parent or guardian with you. If you break yourself I wont be taking you to hospital.
This one isn't aimed at juniors so I won't be taking any more for now. Like I said Tuesday night and Saturday spinners.

I'll have a spare full face with me if you can stand the smell and body armour that will fit someone my size if someone is stuck.
fair play Bren, great idea !
Now, regardless of how experienced you might think you are , its not recommended that anybody below juniors attend this.
Unless somebody with experience of working with underage riders wants to take on this responsibility.
its a difficult task and hugely stessful for a volunteer like Bren to take on an intro Dh day, so leave him to the big kids please.
So unless somebody wants the responsibility of looking after under 16s then its experienced over 16s only ..
I'm certain somebody will run an underage DH day in the near future

Nice one, might beg a loan of them for the club champs if i haven't got mine by then.
No worries Gaz I'll throw them in the Van for ya.
As this spin is an introductory one there will be very little focus on the jumps. You can do them if you want but the focus will be more on cornering, line choice and bike skills.
Crack is also manditory.
Savage idea Bren, some sort of DH spin is long overdue!

I'll try my best to make it out to this, depending how I am after Saturday night! I'll be out on the xc bike as it's all I have at the moment so if anyone wants any advice or a few tips just ask and I'll demonstrate what not to do!
That's great Greg. I think Paul Cummins will be out too.
So folks there's nothing these guy's don't know about getting any kind of bike down a hill fast. Great opertunity for advice and feed back.
Will deffo be there and bring and il bring a spare full face and some pads for anyone who wants them.
Wish i could attend this but the back is fooked. Is this a coaching day?. Will you be doing more days like this again ?
If there is interest it will be done again for sure.
I hope to start with a quick look at bikes set up and epuipment.
A small session on the fire road focusing on skills like the bunny hop, manualing and a bit of bike handling.
Then we'll quickly be off to the track to session some drops and corners.

I'd appreciate it if interested parties would post up their intention to attend so can get an idea of numbers for the day. Ideally I'd like to keep the group at 10 or under but help will be drafted in if more want to attend. Obiviously this takes time to organise so you co operation is appreciated.
Thanks
