Friday 1st January 2010 Spin Palmers for 10.00am

Hey, I m saying Palmers because we might not get anywhere else except the leadmines..
So 10.00am and the pace will be steady but not race pace.

well..i'm going to cycle up from home , the roads around here just look slushy..anybody else coming ?

well i'm up so i'm gonna try and make it up there

well, only me, Richard ,Shona and Jack made it..Jack bailed due to a feeble freehub..but the rest of us had a great little spin..the road up and down was savage...but the Scalp descent was brilliant in the Snow..

oh yeah..Richard had a deadly both feet coming off the pedals smack the Nads off the stem crash, classic..

just got home,the drive up and back was more dangerous than the spin. any excuse to go play in the snow;-) cheer guys had a laugh tody

Bloody cleats kept jammin' up with snow! Coming down the steep bit in the 1st section, couldn't get clipped in, standing up on the pedals - both feet slipped off at the same time - straight down onto the saddle - very bloody sore! My "fathering" days are definately over now!
Felt sorry for Jack - all the effort of getting to Palmers and then the bloody free-hub froze solid!
Great to get out on such a nice day!

Sounds painful Richard.. Didn't get out on the bike but got out for a run up the mountains for an hour, beautiful day alright.

Sounds good, was not willing to venture that far on the roads though, hit Kindlestown and GOD with Justin, the place is open for business but the roads are sketchy enough, if you have rear wheel drive forget it. SPD's with M520s are all but useless in the snow, clipping in was a pain, or not clipping in as Richard found out. Still, magnificent conditions, biking in the snow is just brilliant.

I forgot too, that we should be in tomorrows papers...the Indo or the Mail I think he said !
