Saturday 13th Djouce B-stoe Djouce

I won't be able to do to Savage Sunday this week so I'm planning to do a quick freeride spin on Saturday, I'm not a qualified spin leader so it's not an official spin but anybody who wants to tag along is welcome.
It will be steady pace but no stop, I'll be on the big bike.

The plan is as follows:

Djouce lower car park
road to Ballinastoe
singletracks up to top fireroad
accross the shlompy forest (Blast track)
up White Hill
up Djouce (very top)
down grassy descent
Best Descent or Disco Stu
GC
back to lower car park

Start at 10 am

Max
How savage a pace are you planning? I don't want to be the ass holding everyone up cause I know how annoying that can get so if this is going to be savage epicness xc madness I might give it a miss and go on a one man craic squad spin instead.
Definitely not Tuesday/Thursday savage but something in between Satruday and Sunday pace. I will be riding 'the tank' so will be steady enough on the climbs but fast and furious on the descents.
Come along and see how you feel at the top of Ballinastoe loop, if you see that the pace doesn't suit you then you can do the rest of the singletracks etc. How does that sound?
I'll be there tomorrow, anyone got a shock pump I could borrow in the morning? Have ordered one but taking ages to arrive.

Andy - you'll be fine! you really will come along & enjoy!
I'll head along on this spin, I'll be on a hardtail so I should have no excuse on the climbs. I might struggle on the fast and furious descents though. Sounds like it will be a good spin, looking forward to it!!
Cheers for that spin Max , it was deadly. The decent off djouce makes the pain of climbing up worthwile.
That was a great spin people (which includes gentlemen and ladies, sorry... I should say women!), everyone was deadly!
I wasn't expecting such a big turnout and I'm very happy that we stayed all together all the time, and it doesn't mean that we were stopping or waiting a lot cause we didn't! Good, steady pace throughout and we did the whole spin in 2.15h, good job!
Of course there were faster and slower riders as usual but everyone (well, almost) was well able for all the hard climbing that we did... White hill, Djouce etc. Only one guy in the red jersey (forgive me can never remember all names) wasn't ready for this and we had to leave him in Ballinastoe, hope you had a great spin anyway!
We conquered another bad ass mountain (725 m or 2,379 ft) today and it was a fantastic feeling, mountain biking in it's pure form!

Thanks to all for a great spin!

Max

Now, some pictures:
Everyone getting ready for some all mountain action
'I'm gonna crease you all'
And off we went... the fast
and the not-so-fast
Silvia leading the group up White Hill (aka Blast start)
Just look at all those happy faces, hopefull that it was the last climb of the day
That's freeride(walk) baby!
Eamon can't wait to hit the boardwalks
The moment of truth, cold and hard climb up Djouce mtn
...and we made it! Well worth it, wasn't it?
