Well, where to begin, Myself, Andy (AndyW), Brian (Rhinestone), Eamonn (Hairoil/'Weirdo'), Killian (Killian), and Darragh (Dman) tore out of the blocks like scalded cats, at 6.35 from Lambes, AndyW was full of beans from the off but worried about the 'new' intermediate pace - with Eamonn & Killian on a spin yes the cogs are going to turn a little (a lot) quicker.
We took off along the road all the way past the Blue Light & then on up the hill where we met some Horses at the barrier here poor Brian mid-sentance threw himself into the bushes while the Horsey-Ladies were talking to us which caused a good blast of uproarious laughter, the bike was on top of him & his feet were sticking out of one big thorny bush, funnily enough that wasn't the last fall...
On we went up to the ariels then cut down the road way towards the Wiklow way walkers trail & there we climbed up some really rough trails & then back onto to the 'way up to fairy castel then down the back of that & down a really rocky techy descent - then across over into the forest trails, this is when the tiredness started to kick in - various spills, I kept coming out of my SPD & hitting the ****ting bars - I have a knee like a bulldogs-bollocks today, it better be working by Sunday - which everyone who was out last night said they were going to do & are now suitably prepared (we hope) . . . anyway,
then all the way to the DH track, 2.5 hours of gear grinding fun! We lost Killian on the way home, Eamonn cycled on throught the night & is probably still pedalling now, AndyW was climbing like a freaking-machine.. . well done all. . . Savageness fast approaches (?)
Great buzz of a night, a perfect end to the Thursday night spins . . . because next week it's Kilmashogue, then 20 weeks of the club league! Rock and roll. . .
a deadly spin. 10 days off the bike is not good. first climb was not pleasant - makes me look forward to the joys of kilmashogue next week.

Cheers Andy for the loan of your light, the last half hour would have been impossible without it. I have the chinese lights working now so I'll be sorted for the next time.
That was my first night spin. Even though we only needed lights for a while, it was a good experience.
Enjoyed that one alright, turned out to be a good hardy spin, Some nice technical sections. felt a bit rusty for some reason, myself and Andy gasping up the first climb. We got into it though.
