Tuesday 18th Club training Spin 6.30 Lambe Doyles

Usual loop including the Green Dream mile !

Now theres a chance it might rain..if so, the plan will be do do the 3 Rock Singletracks, similiar to last Sundays spin.
But only if its bucketing down.
We'll make that call at lambers !

well,that was handy!!

well that was the schit !! i had the horn from the start..me, Alfie and Oisin formed a breakaway group going up Ticknock Alfie and Oisin took a little detour while I waited for John Doris and Enduro..by the time myself and John got to Kilmashogue, we had opened a sizeable gap...
by the time I got to the Woccas after the turn I had opened a gap on John...so I took it handy and realised I'd gotten to the far side of 3 Rock from lambe Doyles in 30 Minutes !
So we tipped along the road and by the time we got to Ravens rock we could see Enduro coming across the heather ...
So off we went down bag of chips, Son of bag of chips and the green mile and back home on the road in the rain..
great spin.. top marks to Smithers , hes very handy on the tricky stuff and that saved him..I think I even made Alfie sweat !!!
I took off at the start because the fast lads needed to go fast and I knew the thought of me being really fast would freak them out !!
I hope it worked !!

great spin you were on fire,dont know what carol is feeding you but she better tell us.as for smithers fair play to him for hangin in that was savage pace all the way,we only stopped once to pump oisins front tyre(i gave him a lend of the worlds smallest pump so me and john could catch our breath) the road home was grim with the lashing rain,hope everyone ese enjoyed themselves!

as usual i got almightly dropped on the drainage ditches.. but Jack held up a bit for me, then Dave caught up and we blasted off over the rest of the lap.. really appreciate jack hanging back and pushing me along, i really enjoyed tonight
i got back in about 10 minutes short of 2hrs so pretty happy with that

I think I've finally gotten used to 6 days a week biking !! yeah i hope everybody else survived and I hope you all did the dream mile after the bottom of Annacrivey !! Smithers was eating the handlebars coming out of Enniskerry !!!
And I hope everybody else pushed themselves to their limits !!!!

Well as always, I was dropped at the begining the middle and the end, but Really enjoyed it all the same. the pace has been faster before but I dont remember doing lambs,fairy,woccas,mini bog,annacrivey and back by road in 2hrs to me house thats some pace!!! I was drownded again and got a puncture in Dundrum on the front so had fun cycling on a flat to the house.

am I wasting my time here...? did certain people fiddle around 3 rock only? Will I be getting Orwell Wheelers forms and handing them out in the pub on Thursday...
don;t imagine I'm joking.
Last time I checked we were a hardcore Mountainbike Club..not a group of messers taking it easy and looking at the scenery and fooling ourselves into thinking that we are deadly !!!!

not to take the focus away from richies rant... but any sign of AdamT??? his car was there when we got back but no one had seen him

Nice one lads. I ended up going a lot faster than I had intended. So much for recovery! Gotta agree that smithers has turned into some animal. I was fully expecting to catch him on the climbs, but I never did. I ended up doing most of the spin solo, just a little off the pace of the fast group, and no-one in sight when I looked behind (which wasn't very often). Adding in the green mile rounds out the spin nicely. Stopped to put on the yellow jacket for the road cycle home... the thing actually does keep the rain out most of the time!

yeah I halted the the train at the bottom of Bag of Chips and there was no sign of you, then at the bottom of the dreen mile , enniskerry and then I gave up !! I thought maybe you had missed the Dreen Mile !! I kept telling Smithers you were coming !!
I'm sorry but I will never be a roadie !! how the **** do people do that for the craic..I have tons of respect for them ! because I just couldn't do it !!

I don't know the name of the trail but it was after the top of the open boggy section. I cut a corner too tight. I thought it was just bog but at the last second, I saw a stone jutting out.The derailleur must have hit it and the hanger snapped.

It was single speed the rest of the way home, the chain snapped twice. If the chain had snapped again I think I would have been walking. I ended up spinning in the granny ring most of the way from Enniskerry. I made it back to Lamb's at about 9:30 shattered!!!
