Well that was different :-) The wet sure made you think about those roots again. It's been a long time coming I suppose :-)
Good skills night lads enjoyed that.
Cheers for a great session lads. Even though the weather was terrible, I really enjoyed that. Looking forward to another session like that with better weather.
Bren gave us an in depth sessioning of Colins’ Track, and what a track it is. You could spend months up there.
Bren and Brian had some amazing pointers. Stuff you can mull over and take out onto the trails. I’m going to have to learn to come forward a bit on the bike. You can’t pop the front end or turn well if you’re hanging off the back.
Colm, Derek and myself needed to speed up a bit. Darragh needed to slow down a lot. He’s going to quick.
On to the bermy bit. Again the lads were coming forward with the inside suss. Come forward, elbows out, pump the bars, press the pedals. Scary biscuits but it works.
Last week I dragged Bren up a one hour fire road climb. I thought he’d forgiven me, no, he was just biding his time. “Have a go at the big slippery rock” he says. After I’d un-imbedded myself from the tree at the bottom of it I had another go and it was deadly. I was still shaking when we got to the car park.
Thanks for coming out everyone. I can see us adding a few skills nights into the spins in future. I certainly get a lot out of them.
ha ha i think we have a couple more contender's in next years club dh champs :-) i reckon the pace on the decents of our spin s just went up a notch too. It's great to session stuff every so often then take what you've gained to a spin.
Everyone was riding deadly last night there was some ballsy moves being pulled off. That berm section after the ski jump is a masterpiece and great craic to ride. I think that was probably the nicest way to adjust to the ****ty weather after being spoilt for so long.
We have to throw the odd skills night in over the next few months. I know a couple of experienced heads that can be ropped into a bit of coaching for very little beer :-)
Enjoy the next couple of weeks of quiet without me I'm off on my Hols.
Sounds like a great spin lads, shame I missed it. Got the all clear today, I was told that it is a Acromioclavicluar Joint Sprain but is not too bad and I can get back on the bike but just make sure that I dont fall. Hmm.
Hope to see you all next Tuesday for a spin on my new bike :)
