tuesday spin

Is the usual tuesday spin happening?

yeah but nobody has volunteered to take the less savage and its a bit late now to organise that.

Thats a pity, was going to try make a comeback on the lesser savage spin. Need a bit more biking to get back on the fast train!

well as it turned out there was 2 spins out there this evening.
I run the Savage spin..
Nobody has volunteered to be the man for the 2nd level, well Smithers has but hes going away tomorrow. Either of you could be in charge of the 2nd wave..well not in charge but co ordinate it !!

As it turned out people are still being abandoned with mechanicals and random riders appear all over the place.

I wouldn't mind doing that if you think it's ok. I had the car packed and ready to go earlier hence the "FFS".

you're a big lad aren't you ? round up the rest of them !! they'll benefit a lot more from having you or Steve or any number of experts co ordinate them rather than having me shouting at them or drilling holes in their heads !!

We're going Elite and Expert from now on..Savage and non savage sounds ****..
Elite - Experienced XC racers in the full lycra and powerlegs
Expert - Everybody else giving it socks..

by the way...for that extra kick and peace of mind, park in Enniskerry...its less than 10 minutes from Djouce and by jesus I forgot how painful that climb betweeen the walls is on the way back !

you're fierce soft for a lad from Siberia !!

Less than 10 minutes from Djouce by car maybe - it's almost eleven on the bike, by the time I got there yiz'd gone and I had a grand ol' couple of hours trying to catch ye. Nearly did too, until I happened across a puncture victim in need of assistance at the bottom of the deadly descent on the walkers' trail before Ride Rock.

Still a good spin, just lonely.

Where is good to park in Enniskerry? A village street is a bit public for the post-spin clean-up! There must be somewhere that's just private enough to get changed but not so private the cars'll get broken into.

sorry Alan, it only took me and Max about 10 mins probably less..and we parked at the triangle !
Fair play for giving Steve a hand. lads, you really have to buddy up on this spin. the problem with tubeless tyres is that when they go bad, they really go bad, and trying to get the valve out on a cold mountainside can be horrific. I've been there and its a feckin nightmare.

however going down disco stu was deadly, the non cliff way is bone dry except for a couple of bad patches but apart from them, its a completely schlomp free winter loop..
you should be able to do it in 1.5 Hours..thats an acceptable savage pace.

There are no shortcuts though on this one but if you are really slow, go left at Crone and head up the way we come down ( the walkers trail) and meet us and head back with us.
Or go a bit earlier with a group, but you will miss the energising fast start.
There is no buzz like going from LSD all the way to Powerscourt non stop !!

Yeah but you and Max are man-machines, I'm a slow mortal!

Great spin, Hard work as not been out with the fast lads in a few weeks.. the fast start is a killer but can really see the benefit of it..
I have no prob leading/coordinating the Expert group and will try and be out every Tue from now on..
