Sunday 5th December Spin 10.00 Glen of the Downs

Hello Skidders..meet at 10.00am in Glen of the downs car park..its the one low down at the N11.
Its all rideable down there and we'll have the craic.

well i never made it.Decuded to take the pick up trunk as you can just throw the mountainbike on the back,but proved to be a bad idea.This yoke is rear wheel drive with no weight over the back wheels,so any ice and it just spins its wheels or it follows the off camber into the kerb resulting in the back trying to overtake the front!The poxy council never gritted any off the roads either.So some of my highlights trying to get to the spin today included
Nearly going head on into a bus on Anglesea Road as the back stepped out into the gutter!!
Just about getting up the hill on the Stillorgan Road as it pass's Booterstown Ave and then Mount Merrion Ave with the arse of the pick up hanging out!!
And going down the Stillorgan Road as I approached Foxrock church the lights went red,so gently braked and again,an armfull of opposite lock to keep her straight!!
So at Cornelscourt I did a U- turn and headed home.In future I'll stick with the Mondeo when its icy!!

that was a great spin..loads of thrills ,spills and good old boys on bikes. Huge turnout with a couple of notable exceptions but we won't speak ill of the "dead to me " !!

Yea that was a great spin alright, I absolutely love that fast descent down to the car park, class. Great turnout alright for a cold day. Was great to be back out on the mtb after a couple of weeks of road spins. Cheers Richie.

Good to be back on the mtb again. You got to love those 2 wheel drifts on snow/mud/leaves, I had great fun on all the descents. The descent that goes down to the steps is one of my all time favorites.

Great spin and a good gang out. Tough going after a couple of weeks out of the saddle but lots of sliddery action. Massively impressed by Richies back tyre, each time he put the power down the earths rotations shifted a bit. The spin back to GOD and down the fast trail was insane, praying for grip, Max got me with a sneaky move.

Iv got to hand it too you richie...you alway pull one out of the bag...that was a cracker of a spin i really enjoyed that...we dont use that place half enough...

I always feel the same about GOD/Kindlestown! Great to be out on the bike after a week of eating. Conditions were much better then expected. I was sure we'd get soaked/frozen going through the tunnel but even that was fine! Great call Richie ... rarely a bad one!
