Yep, sounds like you need to open them up to adjust the travel!!! Not something your gonna be doing out on the trails...
I have a Revelation Dual air and the two washers are the answer. They are travel spacers which are added onto the piston internaly. 130-140-150 means that they can be set to any of those travel amounts by using two, one or none of the spacers.
