Goggles - recommendations?

Any recommendations for goggles for DH? I've heard Oakleys are good?

I've got the Thor ones - I'll try find out the model - think they are called
Hero - good visibility, comfy, comes with 2 lenses and a bag, though the lenses are difficult to change - just stick with the clear ones

any more of that fun-pokery Byrner and I won't show you my new 'MX DH' track up 3rock....it's just that it's not really mine, and not all that new...but I swung a mattock at it for a few hours so I've claimed it for the MTB community

While on the subject, are ski goggles suitable for dh?

Ski Goggles are perfectly suitable..however you will need a couple of things to improve their performance.
Turn them inside out and wear them around your arse !!

The problem with ski googles is that the only lenses available are yellow and there are no "tear off mounts". Plus they look quite alot smaller than the dh ones.

and you can't see a damn thing in a forest with ski goggles!

them thor goggles are meant to be kind of bad actually....sorry fergal. alot of the lads said that the foam that goes around your face is really soft and not comfy, just what i was told.
get the fox goggles, there deadly, there made by oakley so there savage quality and i think there cheaper than the oakley ones, and really nice designs too. you can get them off si paton from descent-gear in the uk, im sure somewhere in ireland does them aswell. lenses are easy to change and only £2.50 a lense when others are like a tenner i think.

CCM in Tallaght stock fox & smith. I always wore oakley for mx. personally I prefer wear glasses, as goggles get too hot/foggy....

theres a spray you can get to stop them fogging up, or you can get these bars of wax for car windscreens that work aswell. you'll get them in any car kind of shop, or garage probably. does the job anyway.

I would recomed the oakleys, they fit fine inside my full face and are comfy. theonly dwnside was the fogging, so i removed the thin foam from top and bottom of the vents and they work perfectly know.

i can't wear either..if the goggles get wet and dirty, they are a nuisance to clean. The only time you need them is when its manky out ! Glasses are better but not my much..learn to sqquint effectively or develop sonar !!

oakleys are the number one there a little pricey but ur paying for all the r&d that goes into the fit. So they work better than anything else. The thors are ok i have a pair at the moment and while i've no complaints there not quite as comfy as my oakley ones. Goggles work grand when ur going fast they will fog if your going to slow as theres not enough airflow.
Ski goggles don't work too well as there not designed to fit inside a helmet. The strap is also shorter to fit your head instead of around a full face. On the other hand Mx goggles aren't great when skiing as they don't give you as much peripheral vision so you can't see the fast ****ers burning past you and they tend to come out of nowhere when ur skiing with headphones in.

I've got Spy MX goggles. Seem to be similar to the Oakley's for quality but a little cheeper.
I think if you not sure though go for the Oakley's . Can't go wrong
