Shimano RT86 XT Ice-Tec 6-Bolt Disc with XT M785 brakes...

Hey I'm looking for some help please...

I've recently upgraded my brakes to Shimano XT M785 Pre-Bled Brake Lever/Calliper Set and coupled them with Shimano RT86 XT Ice-Tec 6-Bolt Disc Rotors (160mm).

The problem I'm having is that they are rubbing pretty bad so much so that when I spin the back wheel I only get 1-2 revolutions.

Any ideas please????

Loosen the calliper bolts a little, spin the wheel and slowly pull on the brake lever.

Hold the brake lever tight and tighten the bolts.

This will align the callipers and hopefully solve your problem

If that doesn't work take out the pads and see if you can push the pistons back into the caliper, the levers could have been pulled slightly before the brakes were mounted. Use robust plastic levers or a box spanner, don't shove a screwdriver in there. Also check the rotor is not warped, though unlikely.

better yet..take the fricking thing to a proper Bikeshop and get it looked at by an actual mechanic..I see you are in Dundalk, go and see the lads in Green bikes in Newry.

Careful with that, the pistons on the XTs are ceramic, east to make **** of them with metal things.
