Does anyone else have difficulty taking tires of DTSwiss rims - is there some knack to that I don't know about?
I roasted a chicken faster last night than getting one side of the tire off the rim - over an hour in effort
Imagine spending a hour in the hills trying to change a tube
DT swiss..... up your swiss, they are a bloody nightmare. If you are trying to get a ust tyre on a so called tubeless rim then you are in for a fight, if you are trying to fit a Schwable tyre then you are in for a heart attack!!!
I remember coming on here last year all excited because I'd managed to do 2 tyre changes c/w goop in less than an hour and I was abused from a height by an ex-contributor (you all know who I mean!) and Smithers as well! And then the Trench fella, who has been riding mountain bikes for nearly as long as Byrner, admits that it takes him about 3 hours to remove one tyre and he gets a sympathetic hearing ...... you're all a shower of fickle ****ers!!
wait a minute don't put trenchy in my league..besides if you are not using Mavic then you deserve what you get..I have Eastons on the XC bike..no problem no noithing,..I can't speak for the American classic wheels but if they are made of cheese and string then I can't see a problem with them..its all in the fingers though ! I think you will also find that i abuse Trenchy for a hobby so just feckoff with yourself Mr Roadcyclist !

You were not trying to fit anything onto DT swiss wheels though.....were you....no! So your still brutal, Tracey tells me she has to get the contract cleaners in and the gardener and the fella who waxes your car and legs to get rid of all the goop from yeh, yeh flute!!!
i just took a fricking slashed Maxxis Ignitor of Carols rear wheel and stuck on a brand new Scwalbe rocket Ron took about 3 mins..using a method shown to me by Michal , our Polish Mechanic , which proves that using an actual Bicycle Mechanic as found in a shop like the Superstore, Expert Cycles or The Bike Rack is your best route..
Yea but what about roasting a chicken, anyone got some good advice on that? Trenchy??
for sure - stick a open beer can up its hole, smother the skin in seasalt and stand it upright in the gas BBQ at 210C and dont open the BBQ till its done
1hr later you have the best, most moist roast chicken ever- moist from all the steam of the evaporating beer, yet super crispy salty skin all round
At least I had that to look forward too after I changed the tires...
Try doing the same with Cider instead of beer, Anthea goes mental trying to get the can up Mr Buckbucks ass, as every time she cracks a can open and puts it down, I'm in like flynn, gulp hahahaha!!! wheres that can? What you talking about you crazy woman!! hahahahaha
Managed to lace two 819's and pop tyres on (ignitors) in the time it took wiggo to do the time trial, truing took as long as cav though.... But the gruppetto was over the tourmalet before I could do the same for a set of rubber queens on bontrager corvairs (yes they still exist).....moral of the story, get mavics:) and beer-arse chicken rocks but gotta be open flame not gas for true timing comparison
