tubeless kits - advice

Oh god, here I go:

Supposedly I can buy a tubeless kit that works for standard rims and standard tires to conver to tubeless for just over €20
Anyone got experience with this kit?

Other kits (Stans) areclose to €60 and supposedly you need to change your tires too...

I know I'm opening a can of worms with this post, but I dont feel like buying expensive tubeless kits and new tires just to save me 10mins once in a while,..
I know the benefits of tubeless, after having 819's on last the bike till I sold it
(A better pump and practice changing tires might be the answer )

save your money and buy proper rims/wheels when you can. a set of crossrides are cheap.

No experience with the cheap kits but I have had stans kits in a few bikes over the last 8-9years and there was no need to change tyres worked with everything from wire beads to foldable and bonti corsair rims to mavic 719's but they are a faff to change as often need a compressor. My 819's are sooo much easier.I might have a used stans kit for ya to try if you like.

Looks very similar to the Stans kit that I've used on my last couple of pairs of Crossrides on the training bike which are bomb proof - never give me a moments bother! But they are being very careful to emphasise that they only work on "NARROW" rims - do yours qualify?
I think the tyres question is a completely separate issue. There are basically 3 different tyre types - standard, "tubeless ready" and UST. Some standard tyres will work tubeless (with sealant) and some won't! I don't think the type of "tubeless conversion" kit that you use will change this!

10 minutes me arse!! We stood around for at least 30 minutes while you faffed around on Sunday and even then we only got going when Orla did the job for you! Tubeless is the only way to go!

I gave him a warning about this nonsense on Tuesday, as far as Tubeless kits are concerned, I've put them on several Giant wheels and no bother, like Richard said, some non tubeless tyres will work but only some..I did a lot of experimenting one day with a compressor and a batch of tyres, got them all to seal , DH tyres, Narrow rims , all sorts of things, the only thing I could never get to work are the No tubes with the rubber strip and valve attached..
I would prefer to have all my wheels actually UST but its a cheap altenative using the yellow Stans tape and a valve..
Wheels and tyres with Tubes freak me out..I wouldn't put a price on being Tubeless, especially if I am on the spin .

Tubed tyres the new tracksuit bottoms. Turn up on a spin with them and expect to be mocked and beaten mercilessly.

in a years time people will be saying the same thing about 26" wheels..

Just corverted mine yesterday as well seems to be a great job was worried about it on today's spin but it was spot on! Long may it last!
