Bike rack

Recently changed the car and need a boot mounted rack to carry 2 bikes max.Anyone recommend a good one or has one for sale?Im looking at the Saris Bones but their availability and price is off putting.

I have the saris and it is great, I upgraded from the Hollywood and their is no comparison in quality. It is much sturdier and doesn't require constant tightening of the straps. It is more expensive but you pay for what you get and if you have a 2k bike on the back of your car you want to know it is safe.

Im going to go for the Saris.Where did you get the Saris,how much?

Bike rack

Have had 2 saris bones, (both still going strong left one with a mate in SA and bought another this side). They are pricey, but very stable and quick and easy to mount. Cycle surgery in Dundrum had them a while back,

I also have the bones 2 bike rack and it's the biz. I got lucky with a lightly used 2nd hander and couldn't recommend highly enough. As everyone else said buy cheap, buy twice. Keep an eye on the likes of adverts/ done deal etc. failing that buy new, it's pricey but well worth it in my opinion :) good luck

looks like a great rack/ any problems with full suss bikes ? that seems to be the only bad review I read.

Ive a Saris bones 3 ..Super sturdy , never moves around and can be changed to fit all types of cars in no time ,and once u keep the rubber feet free of muck -stones-dirt it wont scratch the paintwork of the bumper..Ive had full-sussers 29-26 ers hardtails kids bikes the lot with no hassle at all !! They fold up very small so could easily be left in the boot without taking up much space ...worth every cent !! Goodluck....

Eurocycles are the Republic dealer for Saris racks..try talking to Raul in Eurocycles South William street and see if he can do you a deal. I'm not a fan of boot racks..the best racks are the one like Fergal Kilkenny has on the rear of his car..its a Thule. Sits on a towbar. I like the roof racks the best though..but I may eventually get the towbar one..once upon a time I lost a rack with e bikes off the back of a car on the sallygap road..straps snapped !

With the roof racks it's easy to forget their on top..luckly it was my daughters bike that got whacked going up Killiney hill.
A long long time ago, driving to the Blarney 3 day , I watched the roof rack fly off with the 3 bikes tumbling along behind the car.
Towbar is best , with boot mount second.

Not at all, I have an anthem and had that and GaryRB5's trance 29er on at the same time. 1st time having 2 bikes on it and was very sturdy. Once the rear shock is not mounted directly below the crossbar I can't see how it would be a problem tbh...

It's in excellent condition so I'd let it go for €100.

Just upgraded bike to SC Heckler and the shock positioning is awkward with the Bones hence the reason for considering sale.
