Thinking about replacing my OEM Marzocchi AM's...
1. Fox 36 Van R's
2. Fox 32 Van RLC QR15's
3. Pike 454 coils
Any pearls of wisdom lads? Obviously Economic Durntown is a factor but don't just say Pikes 'cos of that!
What model enduro? expert, pro & Sworks came with 6", so I'd recommend fox 36 or Rockshox equivelent. Spesh couldn't find a cheap 6" fork for the comp or elite, so reduced it to 5" front & rear. if you put a 6" fork on, the angles will change. you may be able to flip the rear shock mount...
Van 32's will work also, but you will have wheel problems with the QR15's.
What do you use it for? mini Dh... van 36. all mtn...32's.
Also, why Vans? I have talas 36's on mine... I can lower the front when climbing. they are my second set since 2005, and never gave an ounce of grief.
I have a nice new pair of 32 van rlc with normal QR too, if you want to try both?

Lots of valid points.. It's a Comp model - the basic one. It's my only bike so gets used for everything including the odd inept DH run when no one's looking. I wanted Vans because they're coils, I'm not converted to air forks yet. I recon I wouldn't use the travel adjust anyway. Wanted a through axel though, and can get 15 or 20mm adapters for my hope proII. Have another shock shuttle for the rear (more XC), I'm already using the slacker lower one, half a degree off the head angle or slightly higher BB wouldn't bother me. Mate that's a very kind offer of your forks, but I couldn't, I'd be paranoid about running 'em into a tree or something!
Yep, you're right. I'd prefer the 36 myself - I think I just needed someone who actually owns a pair to say it, so thanks! Now for some 'financial irregularities' so I can pay for them!
36 are definatly better if you can push your budget. I have 36 Van rc2 on the front of my Canyon. They are super forks. Plush strong and stiff.
Would recomend them for a freeride bike or a mini DH.
They don't however have travel adjust or lock out and if you are doing a lot of peddling on that bike it's nice to have the option.
Consider the Talas but if you want to stick with coil check out the U-turn coil Rock shock Lyrik's. They are a little heavier than the Vans but offer more options.
I'd say Vans for the hits but Talas for the options.
