dropper posts ...

After nearly slicing off my you know whats on sat spin when I dropped back off my saddle going down
some rocky crap Harri made us do..a dropper post makes sense..


I have a 27.2 tube - any one got advice on what's good and not too expensive?

is a cable operated one acceptable rather than Hydro ? (KS have integrated cable one)

they also have the interga stealth model for €320 with 100mm drop

is everyone paying 300 - 400 for the benefit of dropping 100 -125mm?

bloody money pit this whole MTB thing..

Cable actuated is grand, it's the drop/ rise mechanics that matters. Not many options in the 27.2 range from what I can tell. Important measurements are the height of the fixed post above your seat tube then the drop. The more drop you have, the lower you'll mount the post into the seat tube and vice versa, too much drop with short legs and you could be stuck with the post too high having to use some of the drop to feel comfortable (can go badly wrong if you raise it and start singing soprano)

I got a reverb a while back off eBay for 180 odd. Came brand new from Canyon, although they didn't list as that on eBay. I reckon they were selling off excess oem stock

27.2 for sure -- 2017 models are all 31+
So it looks like 100mm drop is the most there is out there
300 to drop 100 is a hard one to justify
The least you expensive KS wire cable model for 180 approx is probably the best thing to do
