27/40 is exactly what im after.....how is it set up? is it inner + middle or middle + outter?

What kinda BB is it for?

Its outer + middle

you'll need an ISIS bottom bracket though... which I have... an FSA Platinum Pro

Even with the ISIS bottom bracket it is still a lot lighter than XTR..

You can get a titanium carbon BB from Cranks Bros, Token, Controltech or the likes which will reduce the weight even further by about 50g or more..!

Oz, fyi, get the right length BB and the duo will work perfectly, get the granny/middle chainline with the right BB.......

What Joe said is bang on.. Chainline is set up with the proper BB axle size..

I use a 113mm on the Rize but I'm changing the bottom bracket / cranks over to BB30 so you can try the 113mm BB on your own bike to see how it fits.. there is one size smaller, 108mm but I'd try the 113mm first as its the standard size for most MTB's..
