This is a 2005 Marzocchi marathon race 80mm fork. The remote lock-out went missing at my LBS and I'm just waiting on a replacement.
I'm selling it because:
1. The only servicing options for Marzicchi forks seem to be overseas or in the North which is a pain. But there are plenty of riders using the brand so I guess some people don't mind that. I've only ever been able to get the seals changed.
2. While it's an 80mm fork you don't get 80mm travel. It doesn't bottom out ever but it is not plush.
4. With the Doppio air, PAR and TST, the fork is a tuner's dream but I'm just not that interested
5. After moving up to 32mm forks I now realise just how flexi the Marzocs were!
So, if you are a V-brake luddite like me and you are on the market for a Marzocchi 80mm Marzocchi fork with plenty of tuning options then this could be an option. It's only ever been used for XC and the steerer has a good 8.5 inches on it (1 1/8 tube). But you need to like the brand and know what it is you're buying.
