Digital Cameras ?

I've gotten great usage out of my Sony Digital camera..but I'd like more quality in the snaps and while i don't want the expense of buying a savage digital SLR job..or the pure trouble (fear of breaking it.too) of lugging it around..
I saw Viktor with a savage little Panasonic at the AGM..
or maybe I'm just a brutal photographer who is under utilizing the little Sonys..
I was told before by somebody expert that anything more than 3 Million Pixels is a waste.

Wont be a waste with you get something with more then 3 mega, anyway i think you can't get anything with less then 10 today.

This panasonic are really good, 12x zoom as really small ones, the lenses are preaty good too. So if you are looking for something to carry around and only point and shot they are one off the best ones u can get. Leica Lenses, Really good quality in the image, good zoom range and easy to use.

If you want play around with the camera, then you should go for something else. Like the Canon G9/G10/G11.

I have a G9 and they are great, u have the full control as one DSLR but they are smaller, and well build. Not to much zoom in this ones.

U can try the Sony H20 if u like sony.. but i would go for the Panasonic ones.

Just mind sometimes u can pay more then in the shop if u include the postage, and if something goes wrong with the camera u don't have nobody to complain just a e-mail.

If u walk in the shops sure they will help u to find the best camera for your needs, the most friendly staff i think is in the connscamera shop, beside the Bronn Thomas.

Hey richie.
Tis all about the ISO and the colour settings. make sure you get a camera that has anything from 50 to 1600 Iso - then just play around with each of the light settings etc.
youll be surprised what the little digitals can do with just a small bit of messing around. - to many people stick to the menus.

I picked up a casio Exilim last year after previously owning a few of the cannon ixus jobs [probably the best] - the casio is good an cheap but also has a huge menu selection and presets which you can use to get used to it working. It also has a great screen and is small for the pocket etc.

thanks lads..i stick to the menus and I think thats the problem..i'll play around with the isos etc and see how i get on..as you can imagine i'm usually fumbling for the yoke at the side of the trail and shooting wildly, so I don't be trying to compose a shot or think about settings or what way the sun is shining

If you want something small, robust, takes great pics, is quick to fire up and quick to shoot (none of that killer lag time) then I’ve always found the Canon Ixus to be hard to beat, everyone in my family has one and we are on our third over the years. Sister in law has a Sony and it drives her mad. This is also a great price...

If your looking for something to use out biking, the Pentax Optio W range is the best, they take great pictures, totally indestructible and totally waterproof... I have a W80 in my buoyancy aid on all my kayaking trips and just keeps going and going, its totally bashed up, but no problems with it.. That slow mo is amazing, but according to reviews the picture quality, while fine is not as good as it could be, but the slo mo, the slo mo....
