Right, following on from me not listening to your advice on mountain tyres, I though I would see what you think on the old xc tyres. I have bald igniters on the xc bike, I fall off quite a lot and, I would like to blame the tyres, but they have f**k all to do with it, but instead of admitting that my cat like reflexes are more hipo like at the moment, I though I would get new tyres, plus they are bald and have feck all grip for climbing in the goo. So whats the tyre to have. I would like a reasonable light one, tubless, if the new years resolutions work out I might race some xc, so they have to be deadly ones that will make me win.

hutchinson torros for wet contitions. Maxxis crossmark, larsen tts for dry.

I like the Toro on the front and crossmark on the back thing...
I have Crossmarks om my xc bike and find them great, ok there a bit slippy in slompy stuff but it's perdictable. They're great everywhere else, fast on fireroad, great on wet roots and rocks etc.

I don't know about you but â¬50 for a bicycle tyre is rape!
I have been using an ignitor on the front of my xc bike for two years with absolutely no complaints.
I've had toros on the rear but they seem to wear down quicker.
In my experience the ignitors work on everything..if they feel slow on stuff its because of human weakness.
You know better than to blame your equipment on not winning !

Specialized "The Captain", best XC tyre I have used and only 30 quid for tubeless ready, can't go wrong.
the toros do wear a bit quickly cause they seem to be made of a little bit softer rubber than most. However the grip v rolling resistance is unreall. Usually anything that offers that much grip and mud shedding slows you down to f*** but unfotunatly that performance doesn't come cheap
Bulldog (or Toro) front, Ignitor back, I think I'm going to keep this combo forever, it's a setup that will get you through the whole year, no need to faff around changing stuff.
