Any recommendations for replacing outer and middle M970 chainrings ? Shimano are having a laugh with their prices.

Middleburn do rings for XTR, chainreaction do them, a hell of a lot cheaper than Shimano ones!!

You can get XTR crankset for 275 euro at the moment, nearly as cheap as buying two chainrings.

Sorry, yea I think your right, only seems to be M960 rings, never actually checked what ones they were before, just remember seeing them!
Where did you see the crankset for 275?
I was wondering the same myself, CRC have them for 305euro, only 60euro more than buying middle and outer replacements shimano rings!! Only problem is they don't have 175mm in stock.
bike-components.de have em for 260. They do charge 10 for delivery though so its best if you buy a few things at the same time.

Yeh nobody does M970 replica rings as far as I know so Shimano have you by the short n curlies. Middleburn, TA and Blackspire do M960 replicas.
So if thats the case why are they so popular. it seems to be a rip off. what else is there out there thats as good at that price around €300.
Its about €160 more for XTR than XT and about <80grames in the difference. Are they way stiffer or something?
XT are the best option and best value for money....iv used both and haven't noticed a difference in stiffness but maybe savage gear mashers would
Smithers, buy XT and lose the 80grams somewhere else. Have a ****e or something instead....
