I have the Garmin 605 Dave and its deadly, i'm not interested in cadence or heart rates or any of that guff and this has road maps and all on it..
I am a nonexpert on this stuff but theres herds of them on here or on our Technical Support Site www.madmtb.com

if you have the iphone
then you are nearly there
a few free apps and you are sorted,
not as good as a dedicated gps but horses for courses.
I use mine and it saves your route to a map which you can see online
or on the phone. great for free.

I'm looking for a unit that I can use to follow a route rather than trace my path, so I need something that I can fix to my stem in the rain which eliminates the iPhone.
A crowd called My Satnav seem to be the cheapest for GPS. Chain reactions are very dear.
They have the Garmin 605 for â¬299 http://www.mysatnav.ie/garmin-edge-605
They also have the Satmap Active 10 with the Irish OS 1:50,000 maps uploaded for â¬439 http://www.mysatnav.ie/active10-roi
The Satmap is designed for hiking, so its a bit heavier, but there is a bike mount available for it and the OS maps are appealing. Garmin have been around a long time and have a good rep for reliability.
Any thoughts?
