Wanted, 2nd hand Road Bike

Due to a "change in my circumstance" I'm in the market for a decent 2nd hand road bike. I'm 6ft, handsome, and know next to nothing about spec/size etc.

Budget is 600 or so, but I might go more for the right bike.

Oh, I wont be needing/buying til the end of August.

it seems that someone has heard about the "power vacuum" that may be appearing at the top of Masters in 2011....but, the road is not the answer my ginger-furred MAD friend, I cycled on the road for 2:20hrs yesterday and nearly went insane with the boredom and tedium
though maybe it's an awful lot more exciting on a road bike.....
